Effective and quality-assured security protection

After a security protection analysis, Energibolaget was able to ensure compliance with the law and strengthened protection for the business's strategic resources. 8 initiatives were implemented to address minor deficiencies in system support, division of responsibilities and routines.

The client: The customer is an energy company with security-sensitive infrastructure and important functions within total defence.

The challenge: The customer needed help with analyzing the requirements and the need for security protection in the business, and to ensure routines and functions for adequate and future-proof security protection work.

Our solution: With the help of Ekan's four-step model for safety protection analysis, we were able to quickly arrive at a number of conclusions, in summary:

• That there were requirements for security protection according to law, and how different parts of the business were covered
• That there were additional areas where structured security protection was justified on business grounds and an appropriate level of ambition based on legislation
• That there was improvement and efficiency potential in routines and working methods for security protection work

The security analysis was the basis for a strategic coordination of a number of smaller initiatives to establish the decided improvements.

The "new" security protection organization was supported with resources during the first year so that the new routines would have the conditions to become established.
